Ford Mustang GT Premium fastback imported for testing

Earlier this year, we had reported that Ford was planning to launch the sixth-generation Mustang in India by the end of 2015. Now, the company has imported one unit of the car for testing, indicating that its plans are on track.

The variant imported, is a GT Premium Fastback. The car has a 5.0-litre V8 engine, which puts out 435 BHP and 542 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, which can be operated via paddle shifters.

Some of the standard features on Mustang GT Premium Fastback include automatic HID headlamps with wiper activation, LED tail lamps and fog lamps, pony projection lights, rear spoiler and heated door mirrors with integrated spotter mirrors and turn indicators. On the inside, the car gets dual-zone climate control, a 4-gauge instrument cluster with chrome accents, a multi-function steering wheel, a 50-50 split folding rear seat, heated and cooled front seats and more.

This Mustang is likely to be brought to India via the CBU (completely built unit) route. It will attract maximum duties and taxes and we cannot expect the pricing to be very attractive.
