Ford is expected to launch the Figo Aspire compact sedan in India next month and the hatchback will be introduced later this year. The two new offerings from the American company have been spotted at a dealership in Rajasthan.
The Figo Aspire follows Ford's new design language and features a hexagonal front grille and sweptback headlamps. The hatchback looks similar to the compact sedan except at the rear. It comes with a roof-mounted rear spoiler and a rear windshield wiper. Both cars sport the same alloy wheels and come with ORVMs with integrated turn indicators.
The pictures reveal that the hatchback gets the same interior design as the compact hatchback. However, while the Aspire's interiors get a beige and black colour theme, the hatchback's interiors are all black with silver and chrome inserts. The steering wheel, instrument cluster, infotainment system, climate control unit, gear knob and other fittings are shared with the compact sedan. The interior door handles and inserts on the armrests are finished in silver, while the seats feature black and grey fabric upholstery. Like the Aspire, the front seats have scooped-out seat backs and map pockets.
The Figo hatchback is likely to be powered by the same 4-cylinder, 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines as the Aspire. However, Ford could alter the power and torque figures according to the demands of the segment.
Like the compact sedan, the hatchback is likely to be equipped with safety features such as six airbags, ABS+EBD and hill-start assist.
