Ford India has slashed prices of the Figo hatchback and the Figo Aspire compact sedan by up to Rs. 91,000. This price revision appears to be an attempt to boost sales of the Figo twins, that haven’t yet been able to clock great sales figures for the American car maker.
In case of the Figo, the first three variants: Base, Ambiente and Trend, haven't been given any price cut, as the revision has been made only to the top-end Titanium and Titanium + variants. The Ford Figo petrol Titanium now costs Rs. 5,65,700, down from its earlier price of Rs. 5,94,700. Similarly, the petrol Titanium + has been given a Rs. 30,000 price drop, as it now costs Rs. 6,28,700. In diesel, the Titanium variant is priced at Rs. 6,53,750, while the Titanium + costs Rs. 7,17,750, both of them been given a Rs. 50,000 price drop.
The Ford Figo Aspire gets price cuts on the Trend, Titanium and Titanium + variants. The Aspire Trend petrol and diesel variant prices have been slashed by Rs. 25,000 each, as they now cost Rs. 5,76,150 and Rs. 6,85,850 respectively. The Titanium trim of the Aspire has been given the largest price cut of Rs. 91,000, and thus is now priced at Rs. 5,99,150 for petrol and Rs. 7,08,850 for diesel. The top-end Titanium + prices have been slashed by Rs. 65,000, which now costs Rs. 6,80,150 (petrol) and 7,89,850 (diesel).
No price cuts have been made on the Automatic variants of both the Figo and Aspire.
Strangely, Ford India's decision to cut prices of the Figo and Aspire comes at a time when other brands like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai have increased prices of all their cars by up to Rs. 20,000.
