Force Gurkha to go on sale in September

Force Motors has announced that it will start selling the Gurkha SUV in September 2014.

The Pune-based manufacturer had launched the Gurkha in February 2013. However, the company did not start selling the car. The company claims that it was sorting out any problems and using feedback from auto experts to further fine tune the Gurkha to make it a more capable off-roader.

The Gurkha is powered by a 2.6-litre, Mercedes-Benz OM 616-derived turbo charged, intercooled diesel engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox and four-wheel drive with Hi-Lo option. The car comes with a crawler gear, which helps it to tackle steep inclines without the driver having to step on the accelerator and differential locks on both front and rear axles. The car also gets an air intake snorkel to enhance its water wading capability.

The Gurkha is available as a hard top or soft top and in 3 body colours. Force Motors is offering a 3 year or 3,00,000 km warranty on the vehicle.

Prices (ex-showroom, Pune):

  • Soft top 4x2 - Rs. 6,25,788
  • Soft top 4x4 - Rs. 8,35,788
  • Hard top 4x4 - Rs. 8,50,788
