Fiat India equips 2013 Grande Punto 90 HP with Sports kit

In what seems like a bid to keep the interest around the Grand Punto alive, Fiat India has reintroduced the Sport kit for the 90 HP model of the hatchback. The 2013 Fiat Grand Punto 90 HP Sport, is priced at 7.6 lakh rupees, ex-showroom Delhi, a price that represents a 22,000 rupee increase over that of the 90 HP model.

Apart from the new Sport kit, the 2013 Punto Sport is bog similar to the 90 HP variant in terms of mechanicals. This also means that the changes to the car are merely cosmetic in nature. The 2013 Punto Sport continues to feature the 1.3 liter Fiat Multijet turbo diesel engine that's equipped with a variable geometry turbo charger (VGT).

The VGT equipped diesel motor outputs 93 PS of peak power and 209 Nm of peak torque. Torque transmission to the front wheels of the car is by means of a 5 speed manual gearbox. The car gets an ARAI certified fuel efficiency figure of 20.5 Kmpl. Meanwhile, here's a round up of the various features that the Sport kit adds to the Punto 90 HP,

• Revised seat upholstery
• Chromed exhaust tip 
• Roof spoiler
• Punto branded door sills and floor mats
• Drilled pedals
• Wing mirrors with contrast paint finish (Black on red Punto and red on white)

The car is also available with a lower powered (75 Bhp-190 Nm) turbo diesel engine, which is the same 1.3 liter Multijet unit, albeit with a fixed geometry turbo charger. Petrol engine options on the Punto include 1.2 liter (68 Bhp-96 Nm) and 1.4 liter (90 Bhp-115 Nm) units, both of them naturally aspirated.
