Paytm Fastag issue - Today I received a text message from Paytm, that the Fastag of my vehicle has been blacklisted, due to insufficient balance, on checking in the Paytm application, I came to know that they had charged a whopping Nine crores (yes, that is true) see the attached screenshots. A popup came up to add ₹ 9,00,00,000/- to the Paytm wallet to continue using the FASTag. The normal toll at the same toll plaza is ₹90. Contacted the helpline number, but it was not useful. How to proceed now? Please advise.
Here's what BHPian shankar.balan had to say on the matter:
I guess you should resort to Twitter, Facebook and other social media and tag the great Lord VSS himself so that someone in PTM takes note and sorts things out. This looks like a software glitch.
Here's what BHPian Shreyans_Jain had to say on the matter:
As much as I like the convenience of Fastag, it has gotten a bit out of hand. We have zero control over how much money we end up paying. In fact, most of the time, we don’t even know how much the toll amount being charged is. This has become an effective way for the government to raise toll charges with impunity. Here in north India, we end up paying Rs 2 per km as the toll on average, easily.
Here's what BHPian udzgodfather had to say on the matter:
On a larger scale, you don't have to worry about the recovery, Raise a ticket/mail and Paytm will settle it as a technical glitch, also check if they are still asking you to add money or if the glitch is gone.
But it is going to be a real nightmare for cases like us who already find it difficult to track the toll charges, with just quick stop-and-go at a lot of tolls, people will slowly stop tracking how much toll was deducted at a particular toll booth, without knowing you might be paying a markup of 10-20% believing that the prices have increased and what not.
Here's what BHPian thanixravindran had to say on the matter:
Don't worry, PayTM will arrange a pre-approved 'loan' of 9 crores to 'clear' the Fastag dues
