Drove from Bhubaneshwar to Bengaluru: Route taken & road condition

The Vishakhapatnam bypass is a blessing and you can maintain good speed throughout the bypass.

BHPian SNayak recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

So completed my drive from Bhubaneshwar to Bangalore last week. The initial plan was to start on Friday morning however got delayed by a issue in the car so started quite late around 2 PM.

Bhubaneshwar to Vishakhapatnam:

Fantastic roads through out. Just need to watch out for speed cameras on Odisha side. They are quite a lot and the speed limit is 80 which is difficult to maintain with the six lane roads. As we started late, we stayed in a hotel near Rishikonda beach in Vishakapatnam. Next day we started our journey to Bangalore which was around 1050 Kms

Vishakhapatnam to Bangalore:

The Vishakhapatnam bypass is a blessing and you can maintain good speed throughout the bypass. The pain starts from Anakapalle till Rajahmundry. As this was Sankranti weekend, lots of local traffic was present and it slowed us down. We had our breakfast at a place called One in Annavaram. Quite a good restaurant with good food and clean restrooms and parking.

Looks like there is a plan to expand the Anakapalle Rajahmundry to 6 lane and the project is already approved from NHAI. Not sure if the work has started but this would be definitely help to reduce the congestion to a good amount

Rajahmundry to Vijayawada is again good 6 lane road and a delight to drive. We entered Vijayawada in the afternoon and had to deal with the dense traffic. As the Vijayawada bypass is still not complete, this congestion will be there for some more time.

From Vijayawada to Naidupeta is a mix of six and four lane load and has good surface. From Naidupeta till Tirupati, the 6 lane roads are almost almost complete with just 2 diversions which should complete soon.

We had our dinner at Tirupati and started for Bangalore around 10 PM. Luckily there was no fog in the night and we reached Bangalore around 2:30 AM with a Tea break in between.

This was my first road trip between Bangalore and Bhubaneswar and must say it was quite memorable.
