Dealers get a preview of Mahindra Mojo prior to launch

Last month, we had reported that Mahindra Two Wheelers is planning to expand its presence in the two-wheeler market in India by launching up to four new models this year. Among the bikes in the pipeline is the Mojo 300 motorcycle. Now the company has displayed the bike at a dealer meeting, indicating that its launch could be just around the corner.

The Mojo 300 is powered by a 295 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that develops 27 bhp @ 8000 rpm and 25 Nm of torque @ 6500 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a 6-speed gearbox.

The Mojo will feature twin headlamps, cowl with integrated day-time running lights, an instrument cluster comprising of a digital speedometer with an analogue tachometer, a shift light and low fuel indicator and LED tail lamps. The bike has an inverted fork front suspension and a monoshock at the rear.

Mahindra announced the Mojo 300 in 2010. The company then went on to display the bike at the 2012 Auto Expo. Mahindra showcased the bike once again at the 2014 Auto Expo with some tweaks to the design. However, with the company struggling to find its feet in the market, the launch of the Mojo was put on hold. Now, with the success of the Centuro commuter motorcycle, Mahindra has found the confidence to go ahead with the launch of the Mojo.
