A test mule of what could be the next generation Maruti Celerio (codenamed: YNC) has been caught testing.
The heavily camouflaged test mule appears larger than the current model. The alloy wheels also appear to be larger in size and look similar to the 16-inch wheels offered on the Baleno. The position of the rear wiper pivot and boot lid handle is similar to the current Celerio.
While it is difficult to comment about the interior, in one of the images, you can see what appears to be a touchscreen infotainment head-unit, which has become quite common even in cars of this segment.
The next generation Celerio is rumoured to be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. This BS6-compliant motor produces 67 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 90 Nm @ 3,500 rpm. The engine could be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).
