Citroen C5 Aircross launch pushed back to Q1 2021

According to a media report, Citroen has postponed the launch of the C5 Aircross to the first quarter of 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Initially, Citroen had planned to launch the SUV in India before the end of 2020.

The C5 Aircross is based on the PSA EMP2 platform. It will be imported as a completely knocked down (CKD) kit and will be assembled at the PSA Group's Tiruvallur factory.

The C5 Aircross features a split grille design with two LED daytime running light strips on top. The rear features wraparound tail lights and a dual-tone bumper with integrated exhausts. The SUV gets chunky body cladding on the sides and it rides on dual-tone alloy wheels. On the inside, it gets a touchscreen infotainment head-unit, a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster.

In India, the C5 Aircross is expected to be offered with two diesel engine options - a 1.5-litre unit producing 129 BHP and a 2.0-litre engine with 178 BHP.
