A test mule of the Citroen Berlingo XL has been spotted testing in India.
The Berlingo MPV is based on the EMP2 platform. It comes in two variants - 4.4 meter long standard version and the 4.75 meter long Berlingo XL, which comes with three rows of seats.
In terms of its design, the Berlingo XL has a similar boxy shape to the Renault Lodgy. It has a familiar Citroen front end with headlamps positioned on the front bumper. The MPV gets sliding rear doors with black plastic cladding on the sides. Also note that it does not have roll-down windows in the rear.
In the international market, the Berlingo XL is offered with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 108 BHP and a 1.5-litre diesel producing either 101 BHP or 128 BHP.
It is unclear whether Citroen will offer the Berlingo XL in India. Reports suggest that Citroen could be testing components for its upcoming range of cars, first of which will be the C5 Aircross that is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2021.
