China-spec Jeep Compass facelift leaked

Even the Compass Trailhawk gets a few cosmetic updates.

The first images of the China-spec Jeep Compass facelift have surfaced online. The SUV is expected to be unveiled later this month.

The updated Jeep Compass looks similar to the outgoing version, albeit with minor cosmetic tweaks. The front fascia has been updated with a revised grille, bumper and slimmer headlamps. The SUV has twin exhausts at the rear.

FCA has also updated the Compass Trailhawk for the Chinese market. It too gets a new front bumper with red tow hooks, a black grille, dual-tone bonnet and new dual-tone alloy wheels. Unlike the regular Compass, the Trailhawk does not get twin exhausts.

On the interior, both versions of the Compass are expected to get a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit. The SUV could also get a digital instrument cluster among other minor updates.

The Compass facelift is likely to come with Level 2 Autonomous driving technology, which includes systems like highway assist, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, lane keep assist, active blind-spot assist and driver attention alert.

In the international market, the Compass gets a new 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine along with a plug-in hybrid version. In India, Jeep will continue to offer the 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel that produces 170 BHP and 350 Nm and the 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine that makes 161 BHP and 250 Nm.
