China: Hyundai Verna facelift unveiled

The Hyundai Verna facelift has been unveiled at the 2019 Chengdu Motor Show. The car gets an updated exterior as well as a new interior.

The refreshed Verna measures 4,405 mm in length, 1,720 mm in width and 1,455 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. It has a redesigned cascade grille with silver slats, new wraparound headlights and a dual-tone front bumper with a trapezoidal air dam and silver inserts on either side. At the rear, the car gets wraparound tail lights with an LED light bar that stretches across the boot lid, a dual-tone rear bumper with a silver insert and a rear fog lamp in the centre. The car rides on dual-tone alloy wheels.

On the inside, the refreshed Verna comes with a redesigned dashboard with a touchscreen infotainment system. It has a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and digital instrument cluster.

The Chinese version of the Verna uses a 1.4-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. In India, Hyundai is likely to offer 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines and 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and CVT gearbox options.
