BMW M 1000 XR Competition launched at Rs 45 lakh

The BMW M 1000 XR is powered by a modified 999cc inline 4-cylinder engine from the S 1000 RR superbike.

BMW Motorrad has announced the launch of the M 1000 XR in India. Equipped with the M Competition Package, the bike is priced at Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom).

The BMW M 1000 XR is a litre-class touring bike. It has an aggressive semi-fairing with dual LED headlamps and a pair of M winglets that are said to generate 12 kg of downforce at 220 km/h.

The M Competition package includes M Carbon wheels, a carbon rear wheel cover with an integrated chain guard, carbon side panels, adjustable M footrests, ignition/steering lock over in carbon and a lap timer. It is said to reduce 3 kg off the overall weight of the bike.

The BMW M 1000 XR is powered by a modified 999cc inline 4-cylinder engine from the S 1000 RR superbike. It produces 201 BHP @ 12,750 rpm and 113 Nm @ 11,000 rpm. The engine is mated with a 6-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quick-shifter. The bike can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 278 km/h.

The M 1000 XR rides on a fully adjustable 45 mm upside-down fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Braking is handled by twin 320 mm discs at the front and a single 265 mm disc at the rear.

The M 1000 XR comes with five riding modes: Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and Race Pro. It also has features like a pit lane limiter, launch control, dynamic traction control, wheelie control, ABS, slide control, dynamic brake control, shift assistant pro, automatic hill start control, and adaptive headlights. It gets a TFT screen, USB charging port, heated grips, tyre pressure monitoring system, and an M battery.
