BMW has launched the F650 GS in India. It is priced at Rs. 9.99 Lakhs Ex-Showroom.
The GS has a trellis frame and is powered by a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 798cc parallel-twin motor producing 71 BHP (@ 7000 rpm) and 75 Nm of torque (@ 4500 rpm), giving it a maximum speed of 185 kph. This is the same engine that powers the BMW F800GS too. The bike is expected to return fuel economy of 16 – 18 kpl, and weighs in at 237 kg.
The F650 GS has a telescopic front suspension and monoshock rear layout. Power is delivered to the rear wheel via a chain & sprocket set-up. It has a 17 inch front wheel and 19 inch rear wheel, shod with Metzeler tyres. Yes, the BMW does come equipped with ABS brakes. Seat height is a tall 820mm.
