Beijing: Hire someone to come get you out of a traffic jam

According to media reports, a new service has started in Beijing, China, that helps people avoid getting stuck in traffic jams.

The service, called "Jam Busting", allows people stuck in a traffic jam to hire someone to come and rescue them by paying around $60. The service allows people to hire individuals, mostly on motorcycles, to pick up stranded drivers and transport them out of congested areas, helping them save time and avoid being stuck in a traffic jam. The individual on the motorcycle makes use of narrow gaps and alternate routes to bypass the gridlock.

There was a similar service offered back in 2015 as well, called 'Dingding Yueche', where the stranded driver would be picked up and dropped at his/her destination on a motorcycle, while another individual would take care of their car. The service charged $65 per trip, however, it was discontinued after just a few months due to low demand and safety concerns.

The service was a popular hit in Jinan - the capital of Shandong province. Although, back then, people were hesitant to use the service due to a lack of trust and concerns over the possibility of vehicle theft.
