Bajaj Qute (RE60) quadricycle to be exported to 16 countries

Bajaj Auto has branded the RE60 quadricycle as "Qute". The company has also announced its plans to export the vehicle to 16 countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe. The company claims that it is the first Indian made quadricycle to meet European quadricycle norms and get the European WVTA (Whole Vehicle Type Approval) certification awarded by RDW Netherlands.

The Qute has a steel body with impact resistant plastic closures. The vehicle measures 2,752 mm in length, 1,312 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height. It has a turning radius of 3.5 metres and a seating capacity of 1+3.

Powering the Qute is a 216cc, single-cylinder, water-cooled DTSi, 4-valve petrol engine. Bajaj claims that the vehicle can return a fuel efficiency of 36 kpl, reach a top speed of 70 kph and emit 66 g/km of carbon.

Production of the Qute has already commenced. Bajaj Auto is waiting for a clearance from the Supreme Court of India before it can launch the vehicle in India.
