Bajaj Chetak to get a new battery pack with an increased range

These new battery cells are said to be more efficient and energy-dense.

According to a media report, the Bajaj Chetak is likely to get a new battery pack offering a higher range.

The report states that the new battery cells will be procured from a different supplier. These cells are said to be more efficient and energy-dense, thus delivering increased range from the same battery capacity.

Bajaj has already introduced the new battery pack on the Chetak 3201 Special Edition. This scooter has the same 3.2 kWh battery but offers a higher range of 136 km on a single charge.

With the rollout of the new battery cells, Bajaj will also adopt a new nomenclature with a 4-digit suffix denoting the size of the battery pack. Just as ‘3201’ is used for the 3.2 kWh version, ‘2901’ will denote 2.9 kWh.
