AXN India to air Top Gear Season 22

Fans of the cult automotive show Top Gear UK were left devastated after the BBC confirmed that the show's veteran host Jeremy Clarkson was fired. Clarkson's co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond refused to continue shooting the show without him and the series came to an abrupt end earlier this year. The return of the series remains purely speculation for now, but fans in India can catch season 22 of the show on AXN.

The channel will be airing episodes from the final season of Top Gear UK from 30th May, every Saturday and Sunday at 8:30 pm. The trio will be seen during their larger than life test runs in places like Russia, Argentina, and Australia; while hosting celebrities such as Kiefer Sutherland, Will Smith, Ed Sheeran, and Gillian Anderson as their stars in a reasonably priced car.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, being aired in 214 territories worldwide and with an estimated global audience of 350 million viewers, Top Gear is the most widely watched factual television program in the world.

At least for now, the episodes that AXN will air will only include the ones that have already been broadcast in other regions. Kim Shillinglaw, head of BBC Two confirmed that episodes in the series that have already been shot would be aired, but those episodes will not have the studio section which was usually produced shortly before the airing date. An official release date for those episodes is awaited.
