Audi recalls over 52,000 cars over fuel line leaks

Audi has recalled its A6 and A7 models in the United States and Canada over faulty fuel lines that can leak, which might result in a fire. Over 52,000 cars built between January 25, 2011 and September 13, 2013 has been affected by this recall.

According to Volkswagen – Audi’s parent company, fuel lines have a compression point to make them easier to install. But, these can weaken over time and may start leaking fuel. Although there have been no reports of fires or injuries till now, this can increase the risk of a fire.

Owner whose cars have been affected will be notified starting February 5, 2018. Dealers will replace the faulty fuel lines free of cost.

Currently, only a certain number of cars sold in the US and Canada has been affected and there have been no reports of a similar recall in India.
