Audi A4 diesel launched in India at Rs. 40.20 lakh

Audi has launched the A4 diesel in India at a price of Rs. 40.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This new variant joins its petrol powered siblings in the A4 sedan range, which were launched in India in September 2016. (Click here to read Team-BHP's Drive Report of the Audi A4 petrol)

The A4 diesel in India is available in the 35 TDI guise. It is thus powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine that churns out 187 BHP and 400 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 7-speed S-tronic gearbox. The power is sent to the front wheels and the car has four driving modes: Comfort, Auto, Dynamic and Individual. The ARAI fuel economy figure of the A4 diesel is 18.25 km/l. With the aforementioned powertrain, the A4 diesel can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in a company-claimed time of 7.7 seconds, before touching its top speed of 237 km/h.

Features on offer with the new A4 35 TDI include LED headlamps, dynamic turn indicators at the rear and Audi's virtual cockpit instrument cluster. It also comes loaded with MMI Navigation Plus, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety is taken care of by 8 airbags, ABS with EBD and Audi Parking Aid Plus with rear view camera.
