ASEAN-spec 2018 Toyota Camry revealed

Toyota has unveiled the new-gen Camry for the ASEAN markets. The automaker had globally revealed the US-spec model earlier this year at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. India is expected to get the ASEAN-spec model, with its launch scheduled sometime next year.

For its new-generation, the ASEAN-spec Camry borrows most of its design cues from the American model. There are some small cosmetic changes made, including a slightly lower placement of the front fog lamps and simpler headlamp housings that lose the amber-coloured strips found on the US-spec models. The front bumper houses a massive air dam with multiple horizontal slats.

The overall interior layout too is similar to that of the American model. The centre console gets a V-shaped structure with a touchscreen infotainment system located in the middle. The coloured instrument cluster too has been retained on the ASEAN-spec car.

Technical specifications of the ASEAN-spec new-generation Toyota Camry are yet to be revealed. However, the image shows a blue tinge on the Toyota badge, indicating that there will be a hybrid powertrain on offer.
