Anti theft alarm on my 15 day old Skoda Slavia keeps going off abruptly

I could hear the anti theft alarm being set off. I ran to check the car and the parking lights were blinking.

BHPian AlokSharma recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

The first issue cropped up in my 15 day old Slavia. I had taken it out for a short drive for 40-50 kms in the early evening and came home and parked the car. As soon as I reached home, I could hear the anti theft alarm being set off. I ran to check the car and the parking lights were blinking. The anti theft alarm is pretty loud. I unlocked the car and checked around the car for any animals (cars/dogs) or rats that might have triggered it. Locked the car again after 5 mins and went up.

The alarm went off again after 10 mins. I again rushed down to the parking and unlocked the car. This time, I opened the hood and checked it thoroughly. I even started the car and then turned it off after couple of mins and locked it. I waited down for around 15 mins and the alarm went off again  . Now anxiety had started creeping in as the alarm had gone off 3 times in like 45 mins. I got more worried as it was already 9 pm and was dreading the alarm going off at midnight. I guess the service centre will be closed tomorrow. I have scanned Slavia as well as Octavia thread and have found out that many owners have faced this issue.

I will be speaking to the service centre for this. If this is a common issue, why has there been no software fix for this  . I am sure this must be a bug in one of the sensors. Skoda should release a patch for the same too.

Any suggestions on how to fix the said issue? As members have reported that even Skoda has not been able to pin point the exact issue.

Here's what BHPian MotorDev had to say on the matter:

This isn't a glitch; it's a result of the idle start/stop system. When you come to a stop, the system automatically turns off the engine. However, the car hasn't actually been switched off; it's just the idle start/stop system at work. Consequently, you might think you've turned off the car, exit, and lock it. After a while, the anti-theft system activates to alert you that the car has been left running.

I faced the same issue during my first 10-15 days of ownership. Luckily, the issue hasn't repeated itself since last 2 months. I thought it was just with my car.
