The 7-seater Nissan Evalia (NV200) has been spotted at ARAI, Pune by BHPian W.A.G.7.
The Evalia was showcased at the Auto Expo 2012, and is targeted at the people mover segment (private & commercial). Some high-points on the Evalia:
- Will go on sale later in 2012. The Evalia will be built at Nissan's Chennai factory
- Power comes from the 1.5L turbo-diesel engine that is found in a whole host of Nissan-Renault cars, including the Logan, Micra, Sunny & Fluence
- The Evalia's practicality has built quite a reputation for itself. Ingress & egress are effortless. The van has been inducted to the New York City taxi fleet too
- Interior space is expected to be the best in the segment
- Nissan will position the Evalia below the segment leader, the Toyota Innova. We expect it to be priced over 2 lakh rupees cheaper than the Toyota
- While front-end design is acceptable, the side & rear profiles looks distinctly delivery-van like. Can the Evalia penetrate through the unpredictable Indian marketplace?
