5th-gen Honda CR-V launched at Rs. 28.15 lakh

Honda has launched the fifth-generation CR-V in India. The SUV is available in three variants with prices starting at Rs. 28.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new CR-V measures 4,592 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width and 1,679-1,689 mm in height depending on the variant. It has a wheelbase of 2,660 mm and a fuel tank capacity of 57 litres.

The vehicle has a large grille at the front with chrome inserts. The grille is flanked by triangular LED headlamp clusters with integrated L-shaped LED DRLs. There is a dual-tone bumper with a silver scuff plate and LED fog lamps. At the side, the SUV has black plastic cladding with chrome inserts and chrome trim around the windows. At the rear, the car has L-shaped tail lights as well as a dual-tone bumper. The car rides on 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

The CR-V comes with dual-tone interiors with faux wood trim. The dashboard houses a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, voice recognition and a total of 8 speakers. It has a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster. The base petrol 2WD variant comes with 5 seats, while the diesel 2WD and diesel 4WD variants have 7 seats. The car is equipped with features like dual-zone automatic climate control, 3rd row air-conditioning with independent controls, rain sensing wipers, panoramic sunroof and cruise control among others.

The CR-V is available with a choice of one petrol and one diesel engine. The petrol engine is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder unit that puts out 152 BHP @ 6,500 rpm and 189 Nm @ 4,300 rpm and comes paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The 1.6-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine produces 118 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 300 Nm of torque @ 2,000 rpm. It is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, while all-wheel drive is available as an option.

The CR-V is equipped with safety features like dual front airbags, front side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Agile Handling Assist (AHA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Brake Hold, Driver Attention Monitor, Lanewatch Camera, rear parking sensors and reversing camera, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) and ISOFIX child safety seat anchor points among others.
