BHPian rnaduthota recently shared this with other enthusiasts:
I completed the 6th service for my Cron on January 24th when the odometer read approximately 36,614 km. I contacted the Classic Motors Yashavantpur Service Center on January 22nd and got an appointment for the morning of the 24th.
I had the following minor issues which I asked my Service Advisor to look into:
1. After restarting, the Drive mode was not reverting to the default City mode.
2. There was a metal to metal contact sound coming from the front right side.
The second issue was due to a loose washer/bolt, which was resolved by tightening it. Regarding the first issue, they performed a software update, and when I visited the service center to collect the car, it seemed to be working. However, after driving for a couple of days, I realized it wasn't working in a specific scenario (refer to Case 3 below), and I am yet to show it to the service center to rectify it.
Case 1 (working): Unlock the car >> Press the start button (without pressing the clutch) >> In the instrument cluster, you can see the drive mode switching back to City.
Case 2 (working): Start the engine >> Change the drive mode (e.g., to Sport) >> Stop the engine >> Start again - In this case, the drive mode switches back to City.
Case 3 (not working): Start the car >> Change the drive mode (e.g., to Sport) >> Stop the engine >> Lock the car >> Unlock the car >> Start the engine - In this case, it holds the last drive mode (Sport) and does not revert to City mode automatically.
Since this is a general checkup , total service costed around 1.5K.
However, after the recent software update, I noticed that the pickup has improved considerably, and I got the best mileage of around 23 km/L.
I am overall very pleased with my decision to purchase the Cron, which has been serving me exceptionally well. I'm equally satisfied with the Classic Motors Yashavantpur Service Center, especially my Service Advisor, Vijaykumar sir, and the Service Manager, Varun Kumar sir.
Getting an appointment is straightforward, there is ample parking space within the service center, clean washrooms, and a comfortable customer lounge. Most importantly, they provide outstanding service. Having previously owned Ford and Maruti cars, I can confidently say that this service center is on par, if not better, than the others. I hope it continues this way.
Closing this update with some pictures I took after thoroughly washing and polishing the car at my native place. I believe the Royal Blue color gives the Cron some extra character.
