22,000 km with my Safari: 4th service update & windshield replacement

Windshield replacement costed approx 14k and I went ahead with the insurance claim.

Back with some long pending updates, have been quite busy with work during weekdays and drives during the weekends.

After the monsoon drive, the beast needed some TLC with all the muck. Took it for a detailed wash at my regular place and just can’t stop admiring at this beauty every time it’s detailed.

Few days later, noticed a crack developing on the windshield from a stone hit, I am guessing it could be from the monsoon drive. Left it for few days to see if it develops further, so that I don’t have to replace the windshield.

Unfortunately, I was not lucky enough and the crack started growing and I decided to have the windshield replaced. Anyway my 4th service (22,500kms) was due and called my SA to get an appointment and ask about the windshield availability. Mine being ADAS version, the windshield had to be ordered. Called the insurance guy at the service center and he placed on ordered for the windshield on Friday morning and it was received at the service center on Saturday evening. I got a confirmation to drop my car on Monday morning and it would take 1 day to have it fixed.

The work was done to my satisfaction and I was happy with the turn around time. Even the 4th service was completed.

Windshield replacement costed approx 14k and I went ahead with the insurance claim. The process was taken care completely by my SA and I just had to sign on the dotted lines. I had to pay 2000 from my pocket, as Tata AIG has this policy of paying 2k for the claim first time.

Also, had a small puncture on my rear left tire and got it fixed.

The weekend after that we friends had a quick catchup with families and did a one day trip to Mysore and back. Some pictures from the drive:

That’s it for this post, will be back with another update on a trip to Sakleshpur, which I did with friends beginning of the September month. Stay tuned.
