Porsche has unveiled their all-new Macan EV for the global market.
The new Porsche Macan EV is offered in two variants: Macan 4 and Macan Turbo. Both versions come with a 100 kWh battery paired with a dual-motor & all-wheel-drive setup. What's different is the power output and the overall range on a single charge.
The powertrain on the Porsche Macan 4 produces 402 BHP and 650 Nm and allows the electric SUV to sprint from 0-60 mph (0-98 km/h) in 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 136 mph (219 km/h). On the top-spec Macan Turbo though, the power output is increased to 630 BHP and 1129 Nm, allowing a 0-60 mph (0-98 km/h) time of 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 161 mph (259 km/h).
Both versions of the Macan EV have an 800-volt architecture which makes them capable of using DC fast-charging speeds up to 270 kW. Porsche claims the Macan EV can charge from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes. The carmaker also claims 613 km of range for the Macan 4 and 591 km for the Macan Turbo, both as per the WLTP cycle.
Coming to the design, the Porsche Macan EV features newly-designed LED DRLs on top with the main headlamps positioned horizontally below alongside the air intakes. The rear comes with a slim LED light bar running across the width of the EV. There is also an active spoiler just above the tail lights. Being an EV, the SUV also comes with an 84-litre front boot space.
The new Porsche Macan EV is also longer, wider and has a larger wheelbase than its ICE counterpart, translating to better cabin space. Inside, the Macan EV features a dashboard similar to its Taycan sibling. The car features a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster and two 10.9-inch screens one at the centre and the other for the front passenger. The interiors feature all the creature comforts, tech and connectivity expected in a Porsche.
The Porsche Macan 4 is offered with a starting price of $80,450, while the Macan Turbo comes in at $106,950.
