2024 Porsche Macan EV details revealed ahead of debut

The battery pack is paired with a dual-motor setup, one on each axle producing around 600 BHP and 1000 Nm, with most of the power being delivered to the rear wheels under normal driving conditions.

Porsche are recently said to have unveiled technical details of its upcoming all-electric Macan EV. The new model has been undergoing tests for a while now, with production expected to begin sometime in 2024.

Ahead of its official debut, the German supercar brand has unveiled a few details. As per reports, the Macan Electric will be built on the brand's new PPE (Premium Platform Electric) 800-volt architecture. This is similar to that of the Taycan, however, Porsche has made a few tweaks that, they say, enables better handling, along with offering improved performance and range.

Reports state that the Porsche Macan Electric will feature a 100 kWh battery pack, which is capable of charging from 5 - 80% in just 25 minutes. The battery pack is paired with a dual-motor setup, one on each axle producing around 600 BHP and 1000 Nm, with most of the power being delivered to the rear wheels under normal driving conditions. Porsche is yet to unveil the range of the Macan Electric, although it is said to be higher than that of the Taycan, which offers 250 miles (402 km) on the EPA cycle.

The Porsche Macan EV will also come with rear-wheel steering & dynamic air suspension, both of which should help offer a more nimble and supple ride quality. The SUV is also expected to come with a front boot (Frunk). However, reports suggest that while the Macan EV will get regenerative braking, Porsche will not offer it with 'One-pedal driving'.
