Update: The teaser image that is being circulating on social media appears to be fake.
A teaser image of the upcoming Maruti Baleno facelift has leaked online.
The image partially reveals the front fascia of the new Baleno. It features a redesigned grille that's wider and slimmer than before. The car appears to have LED headlights and is equipped with circular fog lamps.
Inside, the new Baleno is likely to get a heads-up display and a larger touchscreen infotainment system said to be jointly developed with Toyota. The car is expected to be equipped with 6 airbags and an electronic stability program (ESP).
The Baleno could be offered with the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.2-litre DualJet mild-hybrid engines. While a 5-speed manual transmission will be offered as standard, reports indicate that Maruti might discontinue the continuously variable transmission (CVT) and replace it with an AMT option.
While some Nexa dealerships have reportedly started accepting bookings, Maruti is yet to formally announce the same.
