Jeep unveiled their new (2022) Commander SUV in Brazil recently. The Commander is the brand's newest 7-seater offering and will be positioned above the popular Compass SUV in the line-up.
Now, ahead of its launch in international markets, a video showcasing the new SUV's off-roading capabilities has surfaced online.
In the video, the Commander SUV can be seen tackling various off-road obstacles, from hill descent, wheel articulation, and hill climbs. The video also shows the SUV going over logs, boulders, and different terrains with relative ease.
The 2022 Jeep Commander is offered with a choice of two engine options - a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol producing 185 BHP / 270 Nm and a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel churning out 178 BHP / 380 Nm. The petrol engine comes with a standard front-wheel-drive system and is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The diesel variants, on the other hand, are paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox, sending power to all four wheels.
Jeep will bring the Commander SUV to the Indian market as well, albeit with the 'Meridian' nameplate. The 7-seater SUV is expected to go on sale in India sometime in early-2022.
