2018 Volvo XC60 teased ahead of Geneva debut

Volvo has released teaser images of the new-gen XC60 crossover, ahead of its public debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The car is scheduled to be revealed on March 7, 2017.

The new XC60 is based on Volvo's new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, which also underpins its larger sibling - the Volvo XC90. The XC60 will also borrow some of the design cues of the bigger model, including the Thor's Hammer LED daytime running lights and the shape of the front grille. It is thus expected to look like a downsized version of the XC90.

The teaser images also reveal a few details of the XC60's side profile, which looks slightly longer than the model it will replace. It is also expected to have a slightly longer wheelbase, which will help in liberating more passenger room.

Volvo will be offering a range of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines on the XC60. A plug-in hybrid variant is also expected to be on the cards.
