2018 Honda Jazz facelift leaked ahead of Japan launch

Honda has been working on a mid-life facelift for the Jazz hatchback for quite some time. Test mules of the said model were previously spotted testing in Brazil and Japan, pointing towards a nearing unveil. Ahead of the car's official launch in its home country - Japan, images of the 2018 Honda Jazz facelift have surfaced on the internet, revealing the design changes made to the mid-life update.

The leaked images indicate that the new Jazz, which is also sold as the Honda Fit in some international markets, will come with new headlamp housings that appear to be sleeker as compared to the ones found on the current model. The front bumper will also be a new unit, with beefed up fog lamp enclosures on both sides. The side profile looks largely similar to the current model, except for a new set of alloy wheels. The rear end is expected to get a prominent roof mounted spoiler, revised taillight clusters and a new bumper.

Interior images of the updated Jazz haven’t been leaked. However, the India-spec model is expected to retain the current model's dashboard layout, while getting some added features like the new touchscreen Digipad infotainment system that is found in the City facelift and the WR-V.

Being a mid-life facelift, the 2018 Jazz is expected to continue with the existing set of engines. For India, these include a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel and a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol. However, since the Jazz is still just two years old in the Indian market, Honda is unlikely to introduce the facelift here before the second half of next year.
