2017 Maruti S-Cross facelift spotted testing in India

Maruti Suzuki has started testing the 2017 S-Cross facelift on public roads in India. A heavily camouflaged mule of the upcoming facelifted crossover was recently spotted during one of its test runs. While the automaker hasn't mentioned an official launch timeline for the car yet, earlier reports have indicated that the S-Cross facelift will likely be introduced in India around the festive season this year, i.e. September - October 2017.

The spotted model has been disguised under heavy camouflage. However, the India-spec S-Cross facelift will likely retain the design of the internationally revealed model. As a result, the front fascia is expected to come with a chrome-lined wide grille with vertical slats. The headlight assemblies are new units with smoked assemblies, projector setup and LED daytime running lamps. The side and rear profile will likely be similar to that of the outgoing model, with some small tweaks to the taillights and rear bumper and a new set of alloy wheels being the only changes.

No mechanical changes are expected to be made on the facelifted S-Cross. As a result, it will continue to be powered by a 1.3-litre diesel engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 1.6-litre diesel unit mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. A petrol engine might also be added to the crossover, owing to the surge in demand for petrol-powered cars in India.
