2015 Porsche Boxster Spyder revealed

Porsche has officially revealed the Boxster Spyder at the New York motor show. The car is powered by a 3.8L, six cylinder engine that makes 370 BHP and 420 Nm of torque. To appeal to purists, the car comes exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox. 0-100 km/h comes up in 4.5 seconds with the top speed rated at 290 km/h.

The feature list includes a manually operated fabric roof, front and rear bumpers sourced from the Cayman GT4, light weight sports seats and a new 360 mm steering wheel. The designers have also dropped the radio and air conditioner from the standard equipment list to keep the weight down, though both can be added on at no additional cost.

The new Boxster Spyder’s launch will be in July and bookings have been opened at select dealerships worldwide. Prices in Germany start at 79,945 Euros (Approximately Rs. 53.53 Lakh).

The new Boxster Spyder is currently featured on Porsche India’s website, though a launch confirmation is awaited. If the Boxster Spyder is launched in India, it will be brought in as a direct import and prices will be considerably higher than the figure mentioned above.
