2013 Toyota Innova facelift spotted at a dealership in India

The 2013 Toyota Innova MPV facelift is due for a launch in India over the next few days, in time for the festive season. The MPV has already begun arriving at dealerships around the country. FlyWheel is carrying images of one such example. The facelifted Innova made its debut at Indonesia a couple of weeks ago. With an all-new version due in 2015, the 2013 Innova is an example of a facelift that will carry on until the next generation version arrives.

In line with that, the facelift is an amalgam of new cosmetic bits while the mechanical parts remain unchanged. The highlights of the facelifted Innova's exteriors are,

  • New front grille with chrome embellishment
  • New front bumper
  • Stickers on the flanks
  • Chrome garnish on the hatch lid, and additional reflectors

On the inside, the facelifted Innova gets a multimedia touch screen infotainment system. It remains to be seen whether Toyota will incorporate the stylistic and feature changes on all variants of the Innova or whether the facelift would be limited to the top-end variant of the MPV. The facelifted Innova'a top-end variant's price is expected to increase by a few thousand rupees. Notably, the latest facelift of the Innova comes a year and a half after the MPV's previous refresh, which happened in early 2012.

The Innova sold in India is available with petrol, diesel and CNG-petrol engine options. The diesel engined model brings in the lion's share of volumes. The 2.5 liter D-4D turbo diesel unit outputs 102 PS-200 Nm while the 2 liter petrol/CNG powered engine delivers 132 PS-181 Nm. All engines drive the rear wheels of the MPV, through a five speed manual gearbox. Although Toyota offers automatic gearboxes on Innovas sold abroad, no such option exists for the Indian market. The MPV is available in 7 and 8 seater variants.
