Patent images of the eleventh generation Honda Civic have surfaced online revealing the sedan's updated exterior design.
The new Civic borrows a lot of design cues from other sedans in the Honda line-up including the fifth generation City and the Accord. The car features a similar front fascia with slim LED headlamps. The funky rear end with its C-shaped tail lamps has given way to a more conventional set of wraparound tail lights. It has a coupe-like roof line and the prominent shoulder line is reminiscent of the City.
The 11th generation Civic would also be offered in a hatchback body style, but it is the sedan that will arrive at our shores.
The current generation Civic is available with a 1.8-litre petrol engine producing 139 BHP and 174 Nm paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and a 1.6-litre diesel engine producing 118 BHP and 300 Nm. The diesel engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
