Toyota has revealed a new mid-size sedan for the Middle Eastern markets. It's the Toyota Belta - a rebadged version of the Maruti Ciaz.
In terms of design, the Belta features the same front grille, bumper and headlights as the Ciaz. Similarly, the rear end is exactly the same except for the Toyota badge on the boot lid.
The Belta is powered by the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine that is offered in the Ciaz. It produces 103 BHP and 138 Nm and comes paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
The Toyota Belta will be manufactured in India for left-hand drive markets including the Middle East.

A batch of Toyota Belta sedans has been spotted at a port. These are left-hand-drive models headed for the export markets.

The Toyota Belta is expected to be launched in the Indian market this festive season.

Toyota has announced a price hike across all its models from October 1, 2021. Prices are being raised to offset the increase in input costs.
Meanwhile, Toyota is gearing up to replace the Yaris with a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, called the Belta. The former was officially discontinued earlier this month.

Reports also suggest Toyota is likely to introduce the Fortuner Legender 4x4 in the first week of October. The carmaker could replace the spare alloy wheel with a steel rim to reduce costs, while 2-zone automatic climate control could be made standard across the range.

The Toyota Yaris has been officially discontinued in India with effect from September 27, 2021.
The Yaris was launched in May 2018. A year later, Toyota introduced a dual-tone version, and in January 2020, the car received a BS6-compliant engine. The 1.5-litre petrol engine produced 106 BHP and 140 Nm. It was paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed CVT. The carmaker has confirmed that it will continue to provide support to existing customers.

Images of the upcoming Toyota Belta sedan have surfaced online. The rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is expected to be launched next month.
According to the leaked image, the exterior of the Belta will be identical to the Ciaz. Except for the badge, it has the same front fascia with all the chrome bits. The car isn't expected to feature any major changes on the interior either.

Toyota could launch the rebadged Maruti Ciaz in August 2021. The car will be called the Toyota Belta and will replace the Yaris, whose production has reportedly been stopped.
