Two unmarked Maruti Ciaz test mules have been spotted in Gurgaon. In fact, the cars seen here were spotted earlier in May 2017. Currently, Maruti is developing a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine which is expected to power the next-gen Ertiga MPV. According to a source, the same engine will also be offered on the Ciaz and perhaps this engine is the one currently being tested on these cars.
Previous spy images have indicated that at least one of the test cars is based on the Zeta trim. It was spotted with alloy wheels and a 2-DIN audio system. Also note that the test mules haven't got a rear chrome garnish, which further leads us to believe that this might be the Zeta variant. Besides this, the spy images also reveal a new instrument cluster which might be offered on the refreshed Ciaz.
While there has been no official word regarding the updated Ciaz, the possibility that it might get Maruti's own 1.5-litre diesel engine can't be ruled out.
