Toyota Yaris officially discontinued in India

The Yaris will be replaced with a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, which will be sold as the Toyota Belta.

The Toyota Yaris has been officially discontinued in India with effect from September 27, 2021.

The Yaris was launched in May 2018. A year later, Toyota introduced a dual-tone version, and in January 2020, the car received a BS6-compliant engine. The 1.5-litre petrol engine produced 106 BHP and 140 Nm. It was paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed CVT. The carmaker has confirmed that it will continue to provide support to existing customers.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor announces the discontinuation of Yaris in India with effect from 27th Sep 2021. This move is a part of Toyota’s product strategy to continue to cater to the ever-evolving needs of the customer through enhanced technologies and product offerings. In every sense, the Yaris is truly a top-class, versatile sedan. Ever since its India debut, the Yaris built on Toyota’s QDR philosophy, won the hearts of the customers with its stunning style & design, leading features, low maintenance cost and unmatchable drivability, thus creating a unique ownership experience. We thank all our customers for their support and placing their trust in the brand. We would like to continue to serve such customers with other current offerings and preparations are underway to launch new Toyota models in the coming new year 2022.

Further, Toyota will continue to seamlessly cater to all Yaris customers’ needs through our dealer service outlets across the country, along with the promise of availability of Toyota genuine spare parts for minimum next 10 years on this discontinued model.

As we all know, the Yaris is being replaced with a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, which will be sold as the Toyota Belta.

The Belta will use the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine as the Ciaz. This engine produces 103 BHP and 138 Nm and comes paired with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.
