Suzuki has unveiled the ACross SUV, which will be introduced in the international market later this year.
The ACross is essentially a re-badged Toyota RAV4 and will be positioned above the Vitara in Suzuki's global line-up. The SUV measures 4,635 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width, 1,690 mm in height and it has a wheelbase of 2,690 mm. It offers seating for 5 people and has a boot capacity of 490 litres.
The ACross has all the typical design elements you would expect in an SUV. A large grille dominates the front and slim headlamp clusters are positioned higher up on the front fascia. It has a high belt line and squared-off wheel arches.
The interior of the ACross is similar to the RAV4. It features a floating 9-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It comes equipped with a host of safety features including Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC).
The ACross features a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 173 BHP and two electric motors. The one mounted on the front axle makes 180 BHP and 270 Nm, while the one on the rear is rated at 53 BHP and 121 Nm.
The SUV has four driving modes - EV, Auto EV / HV, HV and a battery charger mode. The 18.1 kWh battery pack is said to give it an all-electric range of 75 km. In the EV mode, the car can reach a top speed of 135 km/h.
