Top 10 best-selling cars in India - April 2021

7 of the top 10 cars sold in March 2021 were Maruti vehicles.

Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai continued to dominate the sales chart in April 2021. The list of the top 10 best-selling cars includes 7 models from the Maruti stable and 3 models from the South Korean carmaker.

The WagonR was the best selling car last month with 18,656 units. It was followed by the Swift, Alto and Baleno. Just like in March 2021, the Hyundai models in the top 10 list included the Creta, Venue and the Grand i10.

The top 10 cars sold in April 2021 are:

• Maruti WagonR - 18,656
• Maruti Swift - 18,316
• Maruti Alto - 17,303
• Maruti Baleno - 16,384
• Maruti Dzire - 14,073
• Hyundai Creta - 12,463
• Hyundai Grand i10 - 11,540
• Maruti Eeco - 11,469
• Hyundai Venue - 11,245
• Maruti Vitara Brezza - 11,220

The overall sales went down from 3,20,487 units in March 2021 to 2,86,392 units in April 2021, due to the rise in Covid-19 cases across the country and the resulting lockdown in many states.

Maruti Suzuki has a market share of 47.45%, while Hyundai's share is 17.11%. Tata (8.76%), Mahindra (6.35%) and Kia (5.63%) complete the top five.
