Tata Motors has been testing the Nexon in India for quite a while. The latest set of spy shots surfaced on the internet reveals the compact SUV's interiors, thus offering a clear look at the production model's dashboard layout.
The spy shots show that the centre console of Nexon will be dominated by a free-standing infotainment display, which is expected to be a 6.5-inch unit that will likely come with navigation and rear camera support. This head unit is further expected to be mated to an 8-speaker Harman sound system. The centre console also features piano black inserts around the wedge-shaped AC vents and climate control console. A twin-pod instrument cluster with an MID in the centre can also be seen in the images.
The Nexon is likely to be powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol and a newly developed 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel. A 5-speed manual and an AMT are the two probable transmission options to be on offer.
Tata is expected to launch the Nexon in India by the end of this year. It will compete in the compact SUV segment and will thus rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300.
