The Tata Nexon AMT was launched in May 2018. Initially, it was only offered in XZA and XZA+ trims. Now, the automated manual transmission (AMT) will also be available in XMA trim, priced at Rs. 7.50 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs. 8.53 lakh for the diesel (ex- showroom, Delhi).
Unlike the XZA trim, the XMA variant gets halogen headlamps with LED tail lights and steel wheels with wheel caps. It gets three-tone interiors with fabric upholstery and a Harman infotainment system with Bluetooth and 4 speakers. The XMA variants also gets steering mounted audio, phone and voice controls as well as safety features like ABS with EBD, dual front airbags and park assist with rear sensors.
The Nexon AMT is offered with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which puts out 108 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and a peak torque of 170 Nm @ 1,750-4,000 rpm. The 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo diesel unit makes 108 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 260 Nm @ 1,500-2,750 rpm. Both engines come equipped with a 6-speed AMT with anti-stall and kick-down features. The compact SUV also gets 3 driving modes - Eco, City, and Sport.
