The upcoming Tata Hexa SUV was recently available for a pre-launch drive in Jaipur, Rajasthan, as part of the CEO Cricket Challenge event. In addition to showcasing the Hexa at the event, the automaker has also revealed the specifications of the upcoming SUV, which is scheduled to go on sale in the coming months.
According to the specification sheet, the Tata Hexa will be powered by a 2,179 cc, 4-cylinder, VARICOR 400 diesel engine. This mill develops 154 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 400 Nm @ 1,700-2,700 rpm. Transmission duties are handled by either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The Hexa stands 4,788 mm long, 1,903 mm wide, and 1,791 mm high. It has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm, while the ground clearance is scaled at 200 mm. To bring things in perspective, the Mahindra XUV500 measures 4,585 mm X 1,890 mm X 1,785 mm (L x W x H). The Tata Hexa has a fuel tank capacity of 60 litres.
Braking duties are handled by disc brakes on all four wheels. At the front, the Hexa has a double wishbone type suspension with coil springs, while at the rear it has a 5 link rigid axle with coil springs. The SUV comes with 19-inch alloy wheels that are shod with 235/55 section tyres.
