Scoop! Honda updates product range post City Hybrid launch

Going forward, the Honda City will come with a 15-inch steel spare wheel.

Honda has made some changes to the Amaze, City and WR-V models just days after the launch of the City Hybrid.

Going forward, Honda will no longer use variant badges on its cars. The 'V' and 'ZX' badges are said to be deleted from May 2022 onwards. The City e:HEV will be the only model sporting a variant badge.

The 5th-gen City will no longer be offered with front and rear mudguards. Also, the chrome interior door handles will be replaced with black ones. The VX and ZX variants will also lose the 16-inch spare alloy wheel, which will be replaced with a 15-inch steel wheel.

Besides this, the 4th-gen Honda City will get an upgraded touchscreen infotainment system.

The latest changes to Honda's product range seem more like cost-cutting measures and are unlikely to be the result of the ongoing chip shortage.
