SC recalls order allowing BS4 vehicle sales post lockdown

The Supreme Court has recalled its order which allowed the sale of BS4 vehicles for 10 days post lockdown. The court observed that dealerships had violated its directives and sold BS4 vehicles during the lockdown.

On March 27, 2020, the court had allowed dealerships to sell 10% of the unsold BS4 inventory after the lockdown was lifted. However, the court found that sale of BS4 vehicles had increased in the last week of March, during the nationwide lockdown. BS4 vehicles were also sold after March 31.

Dealerships had violated the court's directives and therefore, the court decided to recall its March 27 order. The court also stated that BS4 vehicles sold after March 31 will not be registered. However, the court would allow registration of those vehicles who details were uploaded on the e-Vahan portal till March 31.
