Rumour: Suzuki Jimny India launch in July 2022

The India-spec Jimny could be unveiled at the 2022 Auto Expo.

According to media reports, the India-spec Suzuki Jimny could be unveiled at the 2022 Auto Expo, while the formal market launch is likely to take place in July later that year.

Unlike the Jimny sold globally, the Indian version will be a 5-door. It is expected to measure 3,850 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,550 mm.

The Jimny will likely be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder K-Series petrol engine producing 101 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. The engine is likely to be paired with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
