According to recent media reports, Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch the next-gen Swift Dzire in India on May 25, 2017. The automaker hasn't officially revealed a launch date though.
These speculations have come soon after multiple undisguised images of the production-spec Dzire surfaced on the internet, pointing towards a nearing launch. It is also being reported that various Maruti Suzuki dealerships have already started accepting advanced bookings for the car for a token amount of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000. Maruti hasn't yet announced that it is officially accepting bookings for the new-gen Dzire.
As revealed in our earlier spy shots, the new Dzire will get some comprehensive changes in terms of its exterior design. The front will get new headlights that are inspired from the new Swift and are expected to come with a projectors and LED DRLs. Other design elements of the new 2017 Dzire include a wide chrome-lined front grille, curvy side profile, a new set of alloys for the top-end variants and a revised rear end with new tail lights and a beefier boot lid.
In terms of engine options on offer, the third-gen Dzire is expected to carry forward the existing line-up of power plants. This includes the 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder K-series petrol and the 1.3-litre, four-cylinder DDiS diesel units. Both these engines are expected to be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while an automatic gearbox will be offered on select variants.
