Rumour: Maruti Baleno RS pre-bookings to start from Feb 27

As per some media reports, pre-bookings for the upcoming Maruti Baleno RS will start from February 27, 2017. The car is expected to be officially launched in the country on March 3, 2017.

The Baleno RS was earlier showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo as a production-ready concept. It is basically a high-performance version of the regular Baleno hatchback. It will be powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that will likely churn out 101 BHP and 150 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

A recent set of images showing the production-spec Baleno RS has revealed that the car will get new front and rear bumpers, a revamped front grille, blacked out alloy wheels and a black body kit (front & rear lip and side skirts). The overall design is similar to the regular Baleno.

Reports suggest that customers interested in buying the car can now pre-book the Baleno RS by paying a token amount of Rs. 11,000. Dealers are reportedly claiming a waiting period of 4-6 weeks for the car's delivery.
